Here are a range of ideas for how you can use technology when looking at the book Man on the Moon (a day in the life of Bob) by Simon Bartram

Idea 1 - Who is Bob?

In this first idea, children can make some inferences about the character of Bob from the first image in the book using the app Seesaw.

Idea 2 - Exploring Stereotypes

Based on idea 1 where pupils were guessing what Bob is like, children can explore stereotyping. In this idea, we use Quizziz to discuss gender stereotyping. Here's a link to the quiz in the video - https://quizizz.com/admin/quiz/61e7ddcf8b66d1001d964f68

Idea 3 - Speaking as Bob

In this idea, pupils use the app Animate Anything to bring the character of Bob to life and speak in role to answer questions they have generated.

Idea 4 - Creating a video interview

In this idea, children can stitch together their recordings as Bob alongside slides asking the questions using the app Adobe Spark Video.

idea 5 - Fact or Fiction

In this video, children create a video to share all the factually accurate information from the book - astronauts travel in rockets and all the fiction elements of the story using Shadow Puppets Edu

idea 6 - KWL about astronauts

In this idea, children can explore what they already know about astronauts and consider what they want to find out. You can create a template in Keynote and children can complete their chart in Seesaw.

idea 7 - mentimeter

In this video, we look at how children can share their research online with  Mentimeter.

Idea 8 - Online research

In this video, we look at how you can share useful websites with your class through Seesaw and some of the built in iPad features to make researching more accessible.

idea 9 - Being an AStronaut

Using their research from the previous ideas, children can present their learning by becoming an astronaut using the masking tool in Doink Greenscreen.

idea 10 - AStronaut ebook

In this idea, we explore another way for children to share what they have learnt by creating an eBook using Book Creator.

idea 11 - designing an alien

In this idea, children use the app Keynote to design their own Alien using the shapes tool. This is a great way for children to get used to different formatting tools.

idea 12 - Welcome to Earth Video

In this idea, we explore the idea of children creating a video using iMovie based on writing a guide for aliens who have landed on our planet.

idea 13 - AR Moon

In this video, we explore the consumer augmented reality app AR Moon for children to experience what it would be like to travel to the moon.

idea 14 - visiting the moon

In this video, children use Doink Greenscreen to create a video where they can travel to the moon just like the tourists in the story.

idea 15 - Postcard pictures on the moon

In this idea, pupils create their own picture of themselves on the moon exploring some simple photoshopping using the app Pic Collage.

idea 16 - interactive postcards

Using the content created in the previous two ideas, children can use the app Halo AR to create their own interactive postcards which would make a really impressive display.

idea 17 - Visit the moon

In the next idea, we look at how students can perform an advert they have written about visiting the moon linked to the book. Using the app Adobe Spark Video, they can create an impressive outcome that embeds many of the spoken language objectives.

idea 18 - recounting Bob's day

In this idea, children can demonstrate what they remember from the story by creating a recount video of Bob's day using the app Apple Clips.
