Here's another idea using the brilliant Puppetpals. This video explores how it can be used to add an animation to a Greenscreen project. There are so many possibilities to this idea which will encourage your pupils to be even more creative with their learning.

This week's video from Dr Chips looks at the fantastic website Glitch.com. THe website is pack full of ideas and support to help children code through HTML.
If you've ever wondered how to create a video that looks like you've had a special visitor in the classroom, here's one way to do it. This can be a great way to kick off a new topic, spark rich discussion or inspire some writing. The added effects in Apple Clips really adds that authenticity.
In this video we look at how pupils can create an interactive timeline linked to a particular history topic. It allows pupils to explore events during that time in more detail and creates an effective finished project that can be shared with the world!
There seems to be a few schools who are reconsidering homework and changing from the traditional worksheet approach. In this video, I explore the idea of flipped learning and how you as a teacher can create content that pupils access at home to then apply in class.
YouTube blocked in your school? Don't worry, Mr Tullock has a great workaround using the Documents app on your iPad. This should allow you to view some of the great content available on YouTube in class even if the proxy on your school Wifi blocks it.
Last week, I posted a video exploring how to use Seesaw to capture evidence for moderation. In this video, I wanted to share how you can use Shadow Puppets Edu to evidence pupil's understanding of reading scales. This can be done on Seesaw, however, you will see that with Shadow Puppets you can add multiple worksheets and questions and save as one video.
Last week, Mr Tullock shared a video looking at using Explain Everything so that your iPad can become an interactive whiteboard - using-the-ipad-as-an-interactive-whiteboard.html. However, the cost of Explain Everything has changed dramatically. So in this video, Mr Tullock shared two other apps - Microsoft Whiteboard and Google Jamboard.
This week, Dr Chips shares a useful resource for any school using the crumbles robotics kit - https://redfernelectronics.co.uk/shop/. This is the kit we share on our training today and the video will share some great resources to help you make the most of your Crumbles kit.
If you're at a school who isn't yet ready to move forward when it comes to end of year reports which I discussed here - redefining-end-of-year-reports.html. There are still ways in which technology can save us time if we have to continue to write reports. Mr Tullock shares how to use the iPad dictation tool to help teachers during this time consuming and stressful time of the year!
Download this new eBook which is packed full of questions looking at three popular songs from different Disney movies. All three are similar in that they fall into the “I want” type of song. All three are also empowering, with messages that will enable your learners to discuss and explore the wider themes being promoted. Download the pack here:
Exclusive Discount for Supporters!
You can get an exclusive discount for ReadWritePerform.com teaching packs if you're a supporter of the page. Use the discount code 'MrPSupporter' to get £3.50 off each purchase. This is the same as a month's subscription. I will do some more video content exploring the ReadWritePerform approach soon. Another great idea for Greenscreen. This video looks at how with a piece of green paper, you can create videos exploring the different bones in your body.
As always, please leave any questions in the comments. iMovie has also had an update where you can now use Greenscreen too, so I will be exploring that feature in an upcoming video. Here's another video building on the previous videos we've posted on the brilliant Explain Everything app. This videos demonstrates how pupils can import different maths problems from SATs papers to White Rose Maths resources and record oral recordings demonstrating their reasoning and knowledge.
I have previously shared a video demonstrating how learners can take their own drawings and turn them into 360 degree images through Keynote - turning-drawings-into-360-images.html. In this video, I wanted to demonstrate how you can create 360 image from tools within the Keynote app. So if you're as rubbish at drawing as I am, the tech can still help you create!
After the Live video I did earlier tonight, a supporter asked for any advice around moderation in Year 2. I decided to put together this quick little video showing how we've been evidencing learning through Seesaw which will be shared with the moderators to further justify our teacher assessment. I hope you find it useful and if you are being moderated! GOOD LUCK! Apologies if it is too late in the day this year. Link to the document mentioned in the video:
This idea demonstrates how learners can create their own "Guess the Animal" video to share their knowledge and understanding of a particular animal in an fun and engaging way. This idea can easily be adapted to any object, person or place.
To further challenge your learners, when it comes to recording, ask your pupils to start with the most obscure facts and information working down to the most obvious facts about the animal. Dr Chips shares another really useful website - http://code-it.co.uk/ which is packed full of useful and inspiring ideas for teaching computer science.
One of the best additions to the live remake of Disney's Aladdin has to be Jasmine's Story, especially the song 'Speechless!' I found it incredibly empowering and so have created a list of questions to use to explore the lyrics in more detail. I hope you find it useful.
What's the one part of a science experiment that learners can't be bothered with? The write up! But what if, through technology, pupils can document, analyse and explain what they have learned doing an investigation in a much more creative and engaging way? This video demonstrates how to do that through Apple Clips.
Mr Tullock shares another fantastic way to utilise the iPad in class. Using the brilliant Explain Everything, he explores how to turn it into an IWB allowing you to model, explain and demonstrate learning with your learners.
Here is a step-by-step tutorial for the app Popplet. This tool allows you to create mindmaps, spider diagrams, timelines and so much more.
Dr Chips is back sharing some more fantastic ideas for Scratch. This video looks at the potential of utilising Scratch in maths.
