Here is the first video in a new series looking at creative ways to use technology to enhance the topic of Rainforests. In this video, we look at using Mentimeter to share everything we already know about the Rainforest and also generating questions we want answering during the topic.

WHERE IN THE WORLD ARE RAINFORESTS?

The next idea in the series linked to the topic of Rainforests looks at locating where in the world they are. This idea is split in two parts - a pre learning task where children guess where the rainforests are before learning and then putting the locations in the correct place on a map.

RAINFOREST VIDEO FACT FILES

The next video in the series linked to Rainforest focuses on children researching different rainforests around the world. After generating as series of questions, they can then present their findings as a fact file video using Adobe Spark Video.

INTERACTIVE WORLD MAP OF RAINFORESTS

Here is the next video in the series linked to Rainforests. In this video, we look at creating a class interactive map of rainforests. We can embed our videos from the previous idea onto a world maps and share it with the world to demonstrate all our learning about different rainforests. There is also the option to create it as a VR experience.

COMPARING THE CLIMATE OF THE RAINFOREST TO WHERE WE LIVE

Here is another video linked to Rainforests. In this video, we look at comparing the weather and climate of the rainforest to where we live. We can look at the average temperature or rainfall and create a chart that we can then orally analyse, exploring our findings and considering why they are different.

RAINFOREST WEATHER REPORTS

After analysing and comparing the climate of the rainforest to where we live, we can now apply all the knowledge and understanding creatively by making our own Rainforest Weather Reports. The video also explores how pupils can add weather symbols just like on TV to enhance their videos further.

EXPLORING THE LAYERS OF THE RAINFOREST

Here is the next video in the series linked to the Rainforest. In this video, we explore how learners can creatively share their learning about the different layers of the rainforest, including the weather, types of plants and animals and any other interesting information.

INTERVIEWING THE ANIMALS OF THE RAINFOREST

Once we have explored the different layers of the rainforest, we can then learn about the different animals that live there. Once children have learnt about each animal, they can bring the animals to life to demonstrate their learning.

INTERACTIVE EBOOKS OF THE RAINFOREST

Here is the last video linked to the topic of Rainforests. In this video, we look at bringing all our work together from the previous few lessons to create an interactive eBook that we can share online for the world to see.
